Favourite Spot

Pale gum trunks standing in mist, the bark scraped and dragged in rust, ochre and grey, over a forest floor built up thick enough to catch the light. The paint is laid on with a knife in places; up close the surface is almost relief.

Signed lower left. On stretched canvas, unframed, with the painting carried around the edges.
